Battle of the Pelennor: Éowyn slays the Lord of the Nazgul!

“Éowyn, Éowyn, White Lady of Rohan, in this hour I do not believe that any darkness will endure!” And he stopped and kissed her brow. And so they stood on the walls of the City of Gondor, and a great wind rose and blew, and her hair, raven and golden, streamed out mingling in the air. And the Shadow departed, and the Sun was unveiled, and the light leapt forth. . . .

For morning came, morning and a wind from the sea; and darkness was removed, and the hosts of Mordor wailed, and terror took them. And all of the host of Rohan burst into song, and they sang as they slew, for the joy of battle was on them, and the sound of their singing that was fair and terrible came even into the City.
